Despite the wonderfully long, productive, and restful summer, something was missing. A sense of adventure, unity, perhaps evolution. I gathered a couple of college friends who shared the same thoughts, Ross and Abel. After a bit of combined brainstorming, we found the perfect activity – a castaway vacation on the other side of the world. Away from society and nearly all of technology, we would live by ourselves on a remote island, given only hunting equipment and a roof over our heads. There would also be a tour guide on the island’s outskirts to give us walkies-talkies, but only in case of emergencies. All of us were psyched, having never experienced anything like this in our lives.
