    Despite the wonderfully long, productive, and restful summer, something was missing. A sense of adventure, unity, perhaps evolution. I gathered a couple of college friends who shared the same thoughts, Ross and Abel. After a bit of combined brainstorming, we found the perfect activity – a castaway vacation on the other side of the world. Away from society and nearly all of technology, we would live by ourselves on a remote island, given only hunting equipment and a roof over our heads. There would also be a tour guide on the island’s outskirts to give us walkies-talkies, but only in case of emergencies. All of us were psyched, having never experienced anything like this in our lives. In a few short days, we were on a plane to Indonesia, then on a boat to our destination: the island known as Siroktabe.             “Alright boys, your huntin' gear is in the hut over there.                   So when I hang out around my female friends, I often like to show off. Not to “attract” them, but just to make it clear to everyone that I’m pretty awesome and that they’d be missing out if they didn’t befriend me. Call it cocky if you will, I just wanted to make the most of my freshman year in college. However there was one girl, Cindy, who I’ve been great friends with for years, yet she really disliked it when I acted like that. “Franky,” she started, “just stop.
